fulfilling the vision

Back in 2021 We introduced a Campaign to pay off the mortgage on our building so that we could redirect the money being spent on that mortgage toward ministry.  The campaign was structured as a one time offering which would take place on October 2nd, 2022.

Many were skeptical, believing that the times were too tough, and that there was too much uncertainty, but those within our fellowship who saw the vision for this stood firm believing that God was leading and guiding this church to ask for a miracle.

Over this past year the groundwork was laid with prayer, conversations, and small group cluster meetings to dream about the future.  On October 2nd we took up the offering in both services.  What follows is the video of the announcement during a celebration meal after the services, and also a letter from Pastor Jeff bearing witness to what God did on that day.  We invite you to celebrate with us!

A letter from Pastor Jeff

It is difficult to put into words all the emotions, thoughts, plans, and dreams that are running through my brain today, after hearing yesterday the results of our Fulfilling the Vision campaign.  Here are the Details:

Our pay-off amount on the mortgage was $423,714.90 as of Sept 30th.  Our goal, set at the beginning of the campaign, was $400,000 since we have money in reserve, that we set aside years ago to pay the mortgage payments in the case of an emergency. Our plan was to use those funds to pay off the rest of the mortgage.  The amount received to date…wait for it…… is $415,559.95.  Our total, including pledges that have not yet been received is $469,429.90, meaning that we exceeded our goal by $69,429.90, and exceeded the payoff of our loan by $45,715.

What an incredible Miracle of God, made possible by those who saw this vision over a year ago, those who jumped on board (some a bit reluctantly at first) and supported the vision, and finally those who prayed, listened, and gave to the campaign as God led them. We were united in this endeavor, and I believe that this is a testimony of what God can do through us, as a congregation, when our hearts are united toward a common goal! Thank you for giving to the vision and mission of OUR church!

As we look to the future we will be “living the vision” as Pastor Pat mentioned during his sermon, and praying hard about how to best use the freed up funds to impact this community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.” -Ephesians 1:3 (NLT)
